_{[ Word had already gotten out about people being in prison, so Gintoki didn't risk texting out to anyone or really using his watch device at all. Gin knew he wouldn't be there for Nico, but he also didn't want to message her and make her worry about him. When he receives a message, though, he isn't sure if she knows about what has happened to them.

Instead of explaining his predicament, he responds. He doesnt respond with a snarky remark or an insult like he usually does. He gave Nico his word that he would do this for her, and yet, here he is— covered in blood and dirt and feeling nothing but hunger. Gintoki doesn't seem panicked over the fact he could get in trouble by talking to her.

She deserves his time, as risky as it is, after all of this: ]}

i know you performed well. with how you speak and how i see what drives you.
i don't need to see you perform to understand. i can already see it in who you are.

[ There's no response for a few minutes, which probably isn't exactly the best time for Gin. She had not expected this. She heard he was in prison before her concert, so she knew going in that he wouldn't be able to make it. She was disappointed - moreso than she's willing to admit to herself - but she doesn't blame him for it. She was just giving him shit and getting him back for opening up with accusations when he texted her a couple of weeks ago - though, in her case, she was using it as a cover for checking up on him because she was worried about him. (Nico that's exactly what he was doing too.)

She doesn't feel bad for it, however bad Gin is feeling, because honestly it takes a lot to make Nico feel guilty about giving people shit. But she is feeling too emotional to reply right away. She doesn't get a lot of positive acknowledgement of her passion, particularly as directly as this, and she really wasn't expecting it coming from Gin.

It's not like she doesn't have people supporting her. Her concert earlier in the day was even moderately successful, with a decently sized crowd mixed between actual fans and people curious about this different style of performance. She has other members from ALASTAIR earnestly supporting her, both backstage and in the crowd. But the other members of μ's aren't here. On stage, she's alone and sometimes, it reminds her of how it was before she joined μ's. Things looked promising at one point then, too, but it hadn't lasted.

It would have been nice to have someone tell her they could see it in who she was back then. ]

[ Eventually, once her emotions are back under control, she does reply. ]

[ Okay this pause is shorter than before, as she's just skimming through the entry she heard about it (hopefully there's a 2x playback speed for this, since most of it is voiced). ...Well, none of this is stuff she can exactly ☆ after. ]

That some of the group went to meet some order that made the sun go away and did all those stupid things interrupting all the festivals. [ she may have a slight grudge for the interruptions and distractions from her shows - and you know the whole dead bodies thing, that's also a problem. ]
That people thought anyone at the meeting was part of the order, so anyone who wasn't fast enough got thrown into jail.
That they're calling it high treason. However that's different from regular treason.

Everyone stopped using the network after that much. I guess it's still hard to get used to for them.
I mean, it's still weird with how it works with your thoughts for me, but at least I'm used to the internet. [ yes nico that is the reason why they decided to talk about the rest in person rather than a healthy distrust of ALASTAIR ]

[ For the most part, Nico's relieved that she can just say she doesn't need to get mixed up in the rescue. The brawl in the square was enough excitement for two lives, in her opinion. On the other hand, it is a little frustrating to not be able to help. If she could help, she'd...think about it. Look, it's super dangerous, all right? ]
