Gintama is a very 4th wall breaking series. It typically references popular anime and Japanese culture and is meta enough to understand that it is an anime/manga. Please let me know here if you would like for me not to 4th wall your character. Gintoki is especially knowledgeable with Shounen JUMP characters, anime, world known franchise (such as Star Wars), etc.
Gintoki is also taken post-manga, so please let me know if you would like for me to refrain from Gintama spoilers too. I try to peek at people's permissions before I tag them, but if it's not posted here or otherwise stated on a character's permissions, I'll proceed as normal. Thanks!

Gintoki takes part in this regularly, referencing the show/series/manga and is self aware they are characters and that he is the protagonist of a Shounen JUMP. He also will reference other mangas and series and... pretty much anything. He also might even recognize your character, especially if they are from a popular Japanese series.
